Our path to Net Zero

On the road to Net Zero, we are taking science-based action. As a founding signatory of the Net Zero Carbon Events pledge, we're cutting emissions across our operations, supporting clients in their sustainability journey, and working closely with suppliers to drive impact across the value chain. Where emissions can’t be avoided, we’ll balance them with high-quality nature-based solutions—because climate action can’t wait.

Measuring our carbon footprint

Tracking our carbon footprint is the first step to cutting it. In 2023, we launched a robust global measurement tool to sharpen accuracy across all emissions scopes. Business travel and purchased goods remain our top hotspots, but we’re making progress—from refining Scope 3 data to expanding reporting on commuting and energy use.

Raising awareness about climate change

Creating lasting change starts from within. At mci group, we’re building a culture where sustainability is second nature—woven into how we think, work and lead. Through onboarding, training, workshops, and our sustainability newsletter, The Beacon, we equip our talents with the knowledge and inspiration to take climate action, both in the workplace and beyond.

Sustainable working environments

We guide our agencies to run more sustainable and inclusive offices, cutting energy and water use, switching to clean energy, choosing low-impact catering, and ditching single-use plastic. Through our sustainability guidelines, we offer practical tips to improve everyday operations in environmental care, biodiversity, inclusion, and wellbeing—making sustainability part of how we work every day.

Digitisation

Digital innovation is helping us cut our environmental footprint. Since 2021, we've migrated to Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365—cloud platforms known for energy efficiency and low-emission data centres. In 2024, we further reduced our impact by optimising cloud resource use.

 

Tools like Microsoft Teams help limit travel, and internal campaigns and digital clean-ups raise awareness around sustainable digital habits. As we explore AI and new tech, we keep efficiency, sustainability and security front and centre.
